Ethyl acetate in its highly pure form is used as a solvent for spectrophotometric applications. It is most suited for HPLC instruments and spectrophotometers including UV-visible spectrophotometer, IR spectrometer and mass spectrometer. In addition, it can also be used as a solvent in column chromatography and solvent extraction. Also, it is used in glues, nail polish removers, decaffeinating tea and coffee, and cigarettes. It is present in confectioneries, perfumes, and fruits.
